How August 6 works
Tennessee votes Thursday, August 6, 2026 — one ballot, one day.
That ballot is the state primary (legislature and governor — the races
on this site) and, in many counties, a county general election on the
same sheet. Early voting opens about three weeks before election day; Shelby County
races are at Who Funds Memphis .
Governor of Tennessee
$16.0M of $31.0M — in one race
The governor's primary is more than half of all the money raised statewide, and
the two leaders are running neck and neck.

Tennessee's 2026 ballot also carries the U.S. Senate race — Sen. Bill
Hagerty's seat — and all nine U.S. House districts.
$30.2M raised across 30 federal candidates, from FEC filings.

to the FEC, including transfers from joint-fundraising and party committees. They
do not include independent expenditures by outside groups
or super PACs.
